Garrett Brown from the United States (Stanford) advanced through the qualifying round and into the final of the men's pole vault Tuesday at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia with a first-attempt clearance at 17-0.75 (5.20m). Brown and fellow American Justin Rogers, a Virginia signee from Hershey High in Pennsylvania, both advanced to the final. Rogers cleared 16-6.75 (5.05m).
