Stanford Hires UConn Coach J.J. Clark To Lead Track, XC ProgramsPublished by
Stanford Set To Announce J.J. Clark As New Director of Track and Field By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor J.J. Clark, who led the University of Tennessee women's team to two NCAA indoor championships (2005 and 2009), has been hired to replace Chris Miltenberg at Stanford University as the director of track and field.
Clark, who has spent the past four years at the University of Connecticut, served as the mid distance coach for Team USA at the 2008 Olympic Games. At Tennessee, he was the women's track and field coach from 2001-11 and then oversaw both the men's and women's programs from 2011-14. Clark is part of an illustrious track and field family. He is married to Jearl Myles Clark and is the brother of Joetta Clark-Diggs and Hazel Clark. His father, Joe Clark, was an educator and principal who was portrayed by Morgan Freeman in the movie "Lean On Me." Miltenberg left Stanford at the conclusion of the outdoor season to take the reins at the University of North Carolina. |
